News Inaugural Wet Ink Festival Begins at 59E59 Theaters March 3 Reverie Productions' first annual Wet Ink, a new six-day play festival of developmental works, begins its run at 59E59 Theaters March 3.

Wet Ink kicks off with a series of staged readings including Big Jimbo, penned by Colleen Cosgrove and directed by Eric Nightengale (March 3 at 7:30 PM); The Troglodytes, by Sheri Graubert and directed by David Hilder (March 4 at 7:30 PM); and The Rose of Sharon by Stellios Manolakakis (March 5 at 7:30) PM.

On March 6 and 7 at 7:30 PM, Reverie presents a workshop production of Beowulf, translated and adapted for the stage by Colin D. Young. Tania Inessa Kirkman directs the work where "mourners at Beowulf's funeral eulogize his glorious life by telling and reenacting their favorite stories of the great hero's adventures: of monsters and dragons, kingdoms and battles, and the passing of an age of valor, pride and revenge." Beowulf also features original music for such period instruments as the lyre and the harp.

Concluding Wet Ink is T.D. Mitchell's Beyond the 17th Parallell, presented March 7 at 2:30 PM and March 8 at 3:30 PM and 7:30 PM. Robert Egan directs the work in which "six Vietnam veterans reunite after 35 years for a weekend of hunting, fishing and poker, only to learn that they're still haunted by the memories and ghosts of an unforgiving war."
