Parity Productions has released its most recent list of “qualifying productions,” identifying titles where 50 percent of the artists working on the show are women or transgender. The New York-based theatre company is dedicated to both producing new works and hiring creative teams that meet this criteria, as well as promoting other productions that do the same.
Each month, the organization releases a list of “qualifying productions” to help raise awareness of gender parity in New York theatre.
This month’s list is made up of: Broadway’s Indecent and Waitress, along with the Off-Broadway productions of Expecting Isabel, the all-female Julius Caesar, Puffs, RED, The Suitcase Under the Bed, and the immersive Then She Fell. Also included in the list were Animal, Bella: An American Tall Tale, and Baghdaddy, which all wrapped up performances July 2 Off-Broadway.
