News Independent Reviewers of New England Awards Presented April 7; The Glass Menagerie, Pippin and All The Way Lead Nominations The 18th Annual Independent Reviewers of New England Awards are presented April 7 at The Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts.

The awards are open to the public and do not require tickets.

In the Large Theater categories, American Repertory Theater received three nominations for Best Play, with All The Way, The Heart of Robin Hood and The Glass Menagerie. Huntington Theatre Company's A Raisin in the Sun, Trinity Repertory Company's House and Garden and Merrimack Repertory Theatre's Glengarry Glen Ross also were nominated.

Nominations for Best Musical include La Cage aux Folles and Miss Saigon at North Shore Music Theatre, Les Miserables at Reagle Music Theatre, Pippin at American Repertory Theater, The Jungle Book at Huntington Theatre Company and Chicago at Reagle Music Theatre

Huntington Theatre Company and American Repertory Theater each received two nominations for Best Director of a Play, with Bill Rauch (All The Way) and John Tiffany (The Glass Menagerie) representing ART and Liesl Tommy (A Raisin in the Sun) and Maria Aitken (The Cocktail Hour) representing Huntington Theatre Company. Charles Towers was also nominated for Merrimack Repertory Theatre's Glengarry Glen Ross, and Brian McEleney was nominated for Trinity Repertory Company's House and Garden.

Nominations for Best Director of a Musical included Mary Zimmerman for Huntington Theatre Company's The Jungle Book, Diane Paulus for Pippin at American Repertory Theater, Richard Stafford for the North Shore Music Theatre's Miss Saigon and Charles Repole for La Cage aux Folles at the North Shore Music Theatre. Tony Award winners Patina Miller and Andrea Martin were nominated for their performances in Pippin, along with Terrence Mann and Charlotte d’Amboise. Emmy Award winner Bryan Cranston was nominated for All The Way, and Cherry Jones and Celia Keenan-Bolger were nominated for their performances in The Glass Menagerie.

Nominations for Best Ensemble went to The Jungle Book, All The Way, Pippin, A Raisin in the Sun, House and Garden, Glengarry Glen Ross and The Grapes of Wrath.

In the Small Theater categories, nominations for Best Musical included Chess, Assassins, Spring Awakening and In the Heights. Best Director of a Musical nominations included Joey DeMita (Assassins), Kaitlyn Chantry (Chess), Eric Engel (Spring Awakening), Paul Daigneault (In the Heights) and Russell Garrett (Camelot). Best Play (Midsize) nominations included Operation Epsilon, Elephant Man, Tribes, Driving Miss Daisy, Stones In His Pockets and Clybourne Park.
