A national theatre festival will be held in Guwahati, Assam, India from Dec. 8-12. Celebrities from the theatre and film world who are expected to attend include Ratanthiam, Asha Ganguly, Anamika Hakthar and Ashish Vidharthi. The festival will include a production of Saraighat -- which was performed in 1996 at the Nandikar Theatre Festival at Calcutta and at the Digboi National Theatre Festival -- and presentations by students of the Seagull Theatre Academy, a full-time drama school founded in 1995 under the auspices of India's Ministry of Human Resources.
