Kevin Corrigan, known for such independent films as "Living in Oblivion," "Walking and Talking" and the upcoming Macbeth retelling, "Scotland, PA," plays rookie security guard Jeff in the West Coast premiere of Lobby Hero at South Coast Repertory Theatre Feb. 15-March 24. Olivia Honegger directs the Kenneth Lonergan play which made an Off-Broadway hit last season.

Adrift in New York City, Jeff takes a job as a night security guard (aka glorified doorman) at a Manhattan apartment building. He attempts to befriend the few people around him - his boss William and two cops, the veteran Bill and his new partner, Dawn - but Jeff creates more problems for them than they had before he came into their lives.

Lonergan was nominated for an Academy Award for "You Can Count On Me," this third screenplay after "Analyze This" and "Rocky and Bullwinkle." His other plays include This Is Our Youth and The Waverly Gallery.

Joining Corrigan in the cast are Tessa Auberjonois (Hold Please, Everett Beekin) as Dawn, Simon Billig (The Hollow Lands, Freedomland, "Star Trek: Voyager") as Bill and T.E. Russell as William.

Tickets are $19-$52. South Coast Repertory is located at 655 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa. For reservations, call (714) 708-5555. South Coast Repertory is on the web at http://www.scr.org. — By Christine Ehren
