Pop songwriter Ingrid Michaelson (“Girls Chase Boys”) and Broadway conductor Georgia Stitt are the latest two names to announce special appearances with The New York Pops orchestra at its November 17 concert, Women of Notes: In Dedication to Female Composers and Lyricists, at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Guest artist Betsy Wolfe, who is currently starring on Broadway in Bareilles’ musical Waitress, will take time off to perform in this 8 PM concert, which will be conducted by New York Pops Music Director Steven Reineke. Wolfe will reunite with her Last Five Years co-star Adam Kantor, who is also appearing on Broadway this fall, in the cast of the new musical The Band’s Visit.
They will appear with previously announced Tony- and Grammy Award-nominated songwriter Sara Bareilles and Fred Ebb Award-winning composer-lyricist Shaina Taub at the concert, which will pay tribute to female composers and lyricists, including Carole King, Tracy Chapman, Dolly Parton, Betty Comden, Mary Rodgers, Jeanine Tesori, and others.
Kantor played the role of Motel Kamzoil in the recent Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof. He made his Broadway debut playing Mark in the final cast of Rent, which was preserved on DVD by Sony Pictures’ Rent, Filmed Live on Broadway.
Tickets for Women of Notes, priced at $21–$140, can be ordered online at Carnegiehall.org, by phone at (212) 247-7800, or in person at the Carnegie Hall box office, at 57th Street and Seventh Avenue in Manhattan.
