News Inishmore Gets Chicago Premiere at Northlight, Opening May 7 Martin McDonagh's satire of violence and terrorism, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, opens May 7 in its Chicago premiere at Northlight Theatre in Skokie, IL.

Artistic director BJ Jones directs the bloody dark comedy about competing Irish terrorists and the revenge one seeks when his cat is murdered. Previews began April 29. Performances continue to June 7.

The cast includes Jamie Abelson (Davey), Cliff Chamberlain (Padraic), Matt DeCaro (Donny), Keith Gallagher (James/Joey), John Judd (Christy), Andy Luther (Brendan), Kelly O'Sullivan (Mairead).

The design team is Todd Rosenthal (set), Rachel Anne Healy (costumes), Chris Binder (lights), Andre Pluess (sound design), Steve Tolin (special effects), Nick Sandys (fight choreography), Rita Vreeland (stage manager), Corinne Kabat (production assistant) and Meghan Beals McCarthy (dramaturg).

McDonagh has written numerous plays including The Lonesome West (Tony nominee, Best Play 1999), The Beauty Queen of Leenane (Tony nominee, Best Play 1999), The Lieutenant of Inishmore (Olivier Award, Best Comedy 2003) and The Pillowman which was a Tony nominee for Best Play 2005 and an Olivier Award winner in 2004.
