Four cast members from the 2016 Olivier and Evening Standard Award-winning production of Jesus Christ Superstar will reprise their performances this summer at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. Performances of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical will run August 11 through September 23.

Also returning this summer are Tyrone Huntley, who won the Evening Standard Emerging Talent Award for his performance as Judas, David Thaxton as Pilate, and Peter Caulfield as Herod.

The production is directed by Timothy Sheader and features design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Drew McOnie, musical supervision by Tom Deering, lighting design by Lee Curran, and sound design by Nick Lidster for Autograph. The staging opens at the Lyric Opera of Chicago in April 2018.

The 2017 Open Air Theatre season will commence with the classic American musical On The Town (May 19 May–July 1), directed and choreographed by McOnie. The cast includes Danny Mac, Fred Haig, Samuel Edwards (replacing Jeremy Taylor, who has withdrawn due to injury), Siena Kelly, Lizzy Connolly, Miriam-Teak Lee, Naoko Mori, Mark Heenehan, Rodney Earl Clarke, and Maggie Steed.
