Ahead of its nationwide release, Fathom Events hosted a premiere screening of Kinky Boots, starring Olivier Award winner Matt Henry as Lola and Killian Donnelly as Charlie, at New York's AMC Empire 25. The filmed West End production of the hit musical, captured in HD at London’s Adelphi Theatre, is set to play in movie theatres across the U.S. June 25 at 7 PM and June 29 at 12:55 PM.
With a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, the musical tells the story of two men grappling with the thought of disappointing their fathers on their way to becoming themselves. Charlie Price must figure out how to keep his father’s shoe factory afloat, when he bumps into Lola, a drag queen whose heels are always snapping off. Enter: kinky boots.
