Actors and artists from around the world are involved in the production of Jane Eyre, the new musical based on Charlotte Bronte's famous novel which will open July 25 at the La Jolla Playhouse for a six-week run. Director and co-lyricist John Caird flew in from London for the rehearsals. Co-director Scott Schwartz and songwriter Paul Gordon also arrived from England. Andreanne Neofitou, the critically-acclaimed costume designer for the Royal Shakespeare Company, crossed from Greece to design the costumes.

The cast of Jane Eyre traveled from equally far-off locations. The stars Marla Schaffel, James Barbour and Mary Stout journeyed from New York. Other cast members came from L.A., Toronto, Vancouver and England. San Diego native Tiffany Scarritt plays the young Jane Eyre.

The La Jolla Playhouse's production of Jane Eyre is an American premiere.
