The film's soundtrack, in its third week on the charts, currently ranks at No. 8 in the Billboard 200. "Into the Woods" continues to climb following its critically praised theatrical release on Christmas Day.
The soundtrack has sold 57,000 units and now stands in the No. 3 slot on the Billboard Soundtrack chart, behind "Guardians of the Galaxy" at No. 1 and "Frozen," which is still hanging strong at No. 3. The "Annie" soundtrack placed at No. 5 on the Soundtrack chart.
Billboard also reports that "Into the Woods" marks the only sales gain in the top 40.
The Rob Marshall-directed film has become the biggest launch of a Broadway adaptation since "Mamma Mia!" ($27.8 million).
The soundtrack for the film is currently ranked No. 14 on the iTunes Top Albums chart with the deluxe edition at No. 27. The soundtrack for "Annie" is ranked at No. 18. Read reviews of the film here.
In its first weekend, "Into the Woods" was seen by four times the amount of people than those who saw both Broadway runs combined.
