News Into the Woods Star Will Be Janis Joplin in New Film Multiple Oscar nominee Amy Adams, who played The Baker's Wife in The Public Theater's Into the Woods, will play late rock icon Janis Joplin in an upcoming motion picture.

Entitled "Get It While You Can," the biographical film will be directed by Jean-Marc Vallee ("Dallas Buyers Club"), according to Deadline.com.

Filming is scheduled to begin in mid-2015. Craig Borten and Melissa Wallack are currently in negotiations to rewrite the script penned by Ron and Theresa Terry.

Adams is a five-time Oscar nominee for her performances in "American Hustle," "The Master," "The Fighter," "Doubt" and "Junebug."
