News Irving, D'Abruzzo and Kaplan Set for Summer Shorts Festival Oscar nominee Amy Irving ("Yentl") and Tony Award nominees Jonathan C. Kaplan (Falsettos) and Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q) have been cast in the 2nd annual Summer Shorts festival at 59E59 Theatres.

Running July 31-Aug. 28, Summer Shorts will present eight world premiere American short plays divided into two separate rotating evenings. Maruti Evans provides scenic and lighting design for all eight productions.

In addition to newly revealed casting, Summer Shorts has announced that playwright Eduardo Machado will be represented with Crossing the Border, rather than his previously announced work In Paradise.
