Based on an original story by Walker and Kevin Quinn, the play will run through Jan. 27. Emmy winners Kevin ("The Guiding Light") Mambo and Darnell ("All My Children") Williams will head a cast that also features Ryan Patrick Bachand, Teddy Bergman, Almeria Campbell and Kate Goehring. Kira Simring directs. "When the lights go out on New York City in the blackout of 2003," Blackout press notes state, "six strangers collide on a street corner in Hell's Kitchen. Their lives quickly intertwine, but when the power is restored, this newly formed community struggles to hold on to what they found in the dark. Inspired by the works of James Baldwin, Blackout is a smart, topical illumination of sex, race, faith, and electrical power."
The design team includes Gabriel Evansohn (set design), Kristi Koury (costume design) and Travis Walker (sound design).
Performances are Tuesdays-Saturdays at 8 PM with matinees Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
