Classic Arts News It's a Sale! Tanglewood Offers Steep Ticket Discounts Through August 10 The Tanglewood Music Festival is now offering discounted prices on tickets for August concerts in the Koussevitzky Music Shed. The promotion launched yesterday and runs through August 10.
Tickets regularly priced at $72 and $83 will cost $50; $48 and $59 tickets will cost $40, and $27 and $39 tickets will be reduced to $20. The discount does not apply to the August 5 and 12 concerts, for which Shed tickets are sold out (although lawn tickets remain available).

"Although each year we have several sellout concerts in the Shed at Tanglewood, on average we sell about 80 percent of the capacity of the Shed," said Kim Noltemy, the Boston Symphony Orchestra's director of sales, marketing and communications, in a statement. "The rain may have kept some people away the last two seasons and gas prices may impact people's travel decisions this year, so this discount should encourage more people to experience the many joys of Tanglewood."

Tickets can be purchased at SymphonyCharge at 617-266-1200 or 888-266-1200, or at www.tanglewood.org.
