Actors and industry professionals from Broadway and national tours of The Color Purple, Avenue Q, Xanadu, Light in the Piazza, Mary Poppins, Rent, Sweeney Todd, Wicked and The Glorious Ones — as well as performers from the Metropolitan Opera, "Sesame Street" and the Disney Channel's "Johnny and the Sprites!" — will take part in the holiday market.
Hand-knitted scarves, blankets, jewelry, sculpture, paintings, photography, doggie tees, clothing, bath salts, soaps, baked goods, furniture, handmade cards, picture frames, handmade dolls and magnets are among the items created by Broadway folk.
Josef Reiter organized the biennial event four years ago, which allows those working within the entertainment industry to hone and sell their "craft" outside of the theatre.
The event will take place Nov. 17 from 10 AM-6 PM in the gymnasium of the Holy Cross School, located in Manhattan at 332 West 43rd Street. Admission to the holiday ActorCrafts is free, and made possible by a grant from BC/EFA.
