Classic Stage Company is extending the world-premiere run of David Ives' New Jerusalem by one week to Feb. 10, citing critical acclaim and brisk ticket sales.

The Off-Broadway CSC production is produced by special arrangement with Bob Boyett. Walter Bobbie directs the tale of philosopher Spinoza, which features Richard Easton, Fyvush Finkel, David Garrison and Jeremy Strong, with Jenn Harris, Michael Izquierdo and Natalia Payne.

"Focusing on the 1656 interrogation of the noted philosopher Baruch De Spinoza by the Jewish community of Amsterdam for his controversial ideas, New Jerusalem examines the clash between religion and modernity that Jews, Christians and Muslims are still, some 350 years later, struggling to reconcile."

The staging features set design by Tony Award winner John Lee Beatty, costumes by Anita Yavich, lighting by Tony Award winner Ken Billington and sound by Acme Sound Partners.

CSC is at 136 E. 13th Street. For more information visit www.classicstage.org.
