Classic Arts News Ivo Pogorelich Cancels All Remaining 2006 Engagements The Croatian pianist Ivo Pogorelich has cancelled for health reasons all his remaining appearances for 2006.
The cancellation, first reported by the French classical music web site AbeilleInfo.com, was confirmed this afternoon by a spokesperson for the International Piano Festival of La Roque d'Anth_ron near Avignon. Pogorelich's next scheduled appearance in France was to have been a July 28 recital at La Roque.

Requests to Pogorelich's representatives at Columbia Artists Management Inc. for comment or further information had not been answered by press time.

Replacing Pogorelich at La Roque on July 28 will be Andrei Korobeinikov. The 20-year-old Russian pianist has won 17 prizes in international competitions; most recently, he was gold medalist at the 2004 International Scriabin Piano Competition in Moscow and won both second prize and the audience prize at the 2005 International Rachmaninoff Piano Competition in Los Angeles.
