Jackie Hoffman to Join Justin Sayre for Night of a Thousand Judys at Joe's Pub

News   Jackie Hoffman to Join Justin Sayre for Night of a Thousand Judys at Joe's Pub
Broadway's Jackie Hoffman will take part in a special benefit of A Night of a Thousand Judys, a special presentation of "The Meeting*" hosted by MAC nominee Justin Sayre, June 13 at Joe's Pub.

The special 7 PM tribute to all things Judy Garland is part of Sayre's ongoing satirical series "The Meeting*," which will benefit the Ali Forney Center and its mission to assist LGBT homeless youth. In addition to Hoffman (The Addams Family, Jackie Five-OH, Xanadu), the evening will include appearances by Kim Smith, Cole Escola, Lady Rizo and the folk-comedy band Summer & Eve, featuring Nadia Quinn (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson).

“Every month at The Meeting* we pay homage to a gay icon; we have done everyone from Bette Davis to Miss Piggy," Sayre said in a statement. "This year we are starting a new tradition, and honor perhaps the greatest gay icon of all time. Judy Garland was born on June 10, and her death at age 47 on June 22, 1969 was said to have been a contributing factor to the Stonewall riots. She loved her gay fans, and they have worshiped her for decades. For the month of gay pride, we could not think of a better fit. Night of a Thousand Judys will celebrate all things Garland and let everyone, performers and audience members alike, find a little Judy magic."

For tickets phone (212) 967-7555 or visit JoesPub. Joe's Pub is located within the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street.
