Presented as a benefit for the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, Jackie Five-Oh! will run through Jan. 22.
A signature blend of Hoffman's original tunes (penned with Bobby Peaco) and biting comedy, Jackie Five-Oh! was co-authored and directed by Michael Schiralli.
Hoffman takes aim at her own career on Broadway and film, while offering an unsparing and hilariously caustic look at the theatre community, the world at large and her recent stint as Grandma in The Addams Family. The concerts celebrated Hoffman's first 50th birthday.
Lamenting the fact that every other grandmother character on Broadway has received a Tony nomination, Hoffman shares her own original song she penned for her character to sing in The Addams Family as part of the act.
This holiday season Hoffman also presented a four-performance run of Jackie Hoffman’s A Chanukah Charol at New World Stages.
Hoffman received a Theatre World Award for her work in Hairspray. Her other theatrical credits include Xanadu, The Sisters Rosensweig, Regrets Only, Book of Liz (Obie Award), Straightjacket, Incident at Cobbler's Knob and One Woman Shoe (Jeff Award). Hoffman has been seen on screen in "Legally Blonde II," "Kissing Jessica Stein," "Garden State," "Mo' Money" and "Freaky Friday."
