Before he begins to serve Prune Danish to Broadway audiences in Oct., comedian Jackie Mason will bring his newest one-man show to the Helen Hayes Theatre Company in Nyack, New York, from Sept. 9 to Sept. 14 and again from Sept. 24 to Sept. 29. Subtitled "always fresh, never stale!," Mason's new show skewers "people, issues and groups that define our daily lives." Mason's last Broadway outing was dubbed Much Ado About Everything, and the veteran entertainer received a 1987 Special Tony Award for his show The World According to Me. The Helen Hayes will also present a new play about how long-time friends stay in touch from Sept. 17 to Sept. 22. Entitled Old Friends.com, the work stars theatre veteran Pat Carroll. She won Helen Hayes Awards for her work in Washington, D.C. productions of Romeo & Juliet, The Merry Wives of Windsor and Mother Courage.
Currently on the stage of the Helen Hayes is Buddy—The Buddy Holly Story, which has been extended through June 23.
