With Side Man having played its last riff, Jackie Mason long awaited return to Broadway now comes to the John Golden Theatre, beginning previews Nov. 16 and opening Dec. 30. The show will have lighting by Stan Crocker and a sound design by Christopher Cronin, but no set designer, according to a production spokesperson.

Mason's comedy, delivered in a borscht-belt cantorial style that runs from bemusement to mock anger, generally deals with such subjects as politicians, urban annoyances, and differences between Jews and gentiles. A spokesperson promised "all-new" material will fill Much Ado.

The comedian has had four long-runs on Broadway: The World According to Me, Jackie Mason Brand New, Politically Incorrect and Love Thy Neighbor.

As a warm-up, Mason brought his stand-up comedy to Westbury Music Fair, Sept. 29, giving him a chance to hone his new material before a New York audience. His show has also been touring such venues as the Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center in Nyack, NY, and the Laff Stop in Houston, TX.
