News Jacques Brel Extends Through January; Robert Cuccioli and Natascia Diaz to Appear Jacques Brel RETURNS … Brel, Blau, Shauman and Jouennest En Cabaret has extended its run at the Triad through January 2011.

Additional performance dates are set for Jan. 5, 10 and 19 at 7 PM. There is also an 8 PM show Dec. 15. The cabaret concert features musical highlights from the revue Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris and additional songs not from that show's score.

Tony Award nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll and Hyde), Jean Brassard (The Kid from Paris), Natascia Diaz (The Capeman) and Ereni Sevasti (Kennedy Center's Carnival! will appear at the Jan. 5 performance.

Casting for future January performances is undetermined, but will likely include some or all of the performers  who appeared with Cuccioli and Diaz in the 2006-07 revival of the Alive and Well revue at the Zipper Theater and have performed with them in rotation since the show opened Aug. 25.  They include Tamra Hayden (Cabaret), Rodney Hicks (The Scottsboro Boys) and Jim Stanek (Little Women). Theatre and cabaret veterans Karen Kohler (Kabarett Fete), Micheline Van Hautem (La Musique), Rich Siegel (My Sinatra) and others, who have appeared in the Triad engagement, may also make appearances in the January evenings.

The evening was created by Dan Whitten, who produced the Zipper Theater revival, and features musical direction by Rick Hip-Flores. Brel songs including "Carousel," "My Childhood," "If We Only Have Love," "Ne Me Quitte Pas," "The Bulls," "Jackie," "Amsterdam" and "I Loved."
