The new work, which was workshopped in February at the New Haven, Connecticut stage, began performances Oct. 16 and was slated to run through Nov. 23, but has added three more performances through Nov. 25. In Fran's Bed, Farrow portrays a sick woman who, on her death bed, reveals the many secrets of her life to her two grown daughters. Lapine, a three-time Tony Award winner for his musical books to Into the Woods, Falsettos and Passion, directs the full staging of his family drama.

Harris Yulin (Hedda Gabler, The Diary of Anne Frank), who was featured in the workshop of the play with Farrow, performs with a cast that also includes Marcia DeBonis ("Tadpole," "L.I.E."), Christopher Innvar (Victor/Victoria, Floyd Collins), Kellie Overbey (QED, Betty's Summer Vacation), Brenda Pressley (Dreamgirls) and Carrie Preston (Indiscretions, Chaucer in Rome).

The design team includes Douglas Stein (scenic),Susan Hilferty (costume), David Jay Lander (lighting) and Fitz Patton (sound).
