Two-time Tony Award winner James Naughton will release his debut solo CD Oct. 8 on the DRG Records label.

Entitled "It's About Time," Naughton's recording features an eclectic mix of tunes by such composer as Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart, Randy Newman and Lyle Lovett. About the recording Paul Newman — who Naughton recently directed in a production of Our Town — said, "Good Scotch mellows with age, and so does Mr. Naughton."

With musical direction by John Oddo, "It's About Time" features songs from Naughton's recent stint at New York's Cafe Carlyle. The complete track listing follows:

James Naughton received Tony Awards for his work in City of Angels and Chicago, and he received much acclaim for his concert appearances in James Naughton: Live at the Manhattan Theater Club and James Naughton: Street of Dreams. Also a star of television and film, Naughton recently directed a production of Our Town, which is slated for a Broadway run this season.   — By Andrew Gans
