The movie, penned by Linda Yellen, tells the love story of the Prince and his soon-to-be bride and follows their relationship from their time as students at the University of St. Andrews, William's military training at the Sandhurst Military Academy, the couple's split in 2007, their engagement in 2010, and royal advice given from William's grandmother, the Queen. Yellen will also produce the film that will go into production May 11 in Bucharest.
Alexander won the Tony in 1969 for her performance in The Great White Hope. She has also been nominated for her performances in 6 Rms Riv Vu, Find Your Way Home, First Monday in October, The Visit, The Sisters Rosensweig and Honour.
"William & Kate: A Royal Love Story" will premiere on the Hallmark Channel Aug. 13 at 9 PM—a few weeks before the 14-year anniversary of the death of William's mother, Princess Diana.
