"Seinfeld"'s Jason Alexander will host "Extraordinary! A Tribute to Stephen Schwartz" Feb. 4 at the Pasadena Playhouse and for the benefit of the Musical Theatre Guild, a Los Angeles-area Broadway in Concert series group. Performing alongside Alexander will be Maureen McGovern, Andrea Marcovicci, Karen Morrow, Liz Calloway and Schwartz himself. Composer-lyricist Schwartz is currently at work on Wicked, a musical based on the novel by Gregory Maguire ("Lost," "Confessions of a Wicked Stepsister"), which purports to tell the true story of "The Wizard of Oz"'s Wicked Witch of the West. The creator of the popular hits Godspell and Pippin, he has won the Tony Award, the Academy Award and the Grammy Award. In past seasons, the Musical Theatre Guild revived Schwartz's Rags, The Baker's Wife and Working for their concert series.

Tickets to the Schwartz tribute are available by calling (818) 848-6844. The Pasadena Playhouse is located at 39 South El Molino Avenue.
