News Jason Danieley, Sally Kellerman, Steve Ross, Annie Ross To Play Metropolitan Room in April Several veterans of the theatre and cabaret will play the Metropolitan Room in April.

Sally Kellerman will start the month's entertainment April 1, 2 and 3 at 7 PM. The actress and singer, best known as Hot Lips in the film "M*A*S*H," will perform "Sally," "a fitting and contemporary mix of jazzy blues and adult standards with a touch of soulful rock," according to press notes.

Randi Shane, a veteran of the national tours of Swing! and Show Boat, will take the stage April 4 at 7 PM for "an evening of melodic storytelling."

Legendary jazz and cabaret artist Annie Ross will bring her latest show to the Metropolitan Room April 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 9:30 PM.

Sigali Hamberger will perform "A Toast to Ava Gardner," a tribute to the silver-screen actress featuring many selections from the Great American Songbook, April 5 and 6 at 7 PM. The show will be directed by Scott Coulbert, and musical director and arranger Ido Alexander will accompany Hamberger on piano.

Keith Dames will pay tribute to Billie Holiday April 6 at 9:30 PM. Tami Tyree will make her Metropolitan Room debut April 7 at 7 PM, performing "time-honored standards, Broadway hits and gutbucket blues—all sung with the edgy pathos of a gospel song or as she admits, the humility of a spiritual."

Broadway's Jason Danieley (Next to Normal, The Full Monty) will bring his band, Jason Danieley and the Frontier Heroes, to the Metropolitan stage April 7 at 9:30 PM. The band will "put a back-porch twist to standards written by Arlen, Mercer, Carmichael, Connick and Gershwin to name a few," and will also draw on American pop music for the set list.

Richard Holbrook will perform an evening of songs by Burton Lane, the composer of Finian's Rainbow, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever and numerous other Broadway musicals, April 8 and 10 at 7 PM.

Stage veteran Hechter Ubarry (Castronauts, Man of La Mancha) will sing songs and tell stories in Call Me Papo, April 15 and 23 at 7 PM.

Joan Curto will perform a tribute to composer-lyricist Jerry Herman (Hello, Dolly!, Mame, La Cage aux Folles) in celebration of Herman's 80th birthday, April 17 at 7 PM.

Veteran cabaret artist Steve Ross will join Ann Monoyios and the Four Nations Ensemble "for an hour long dialogue of love and obsession from the 17th through the 21st century," April 20 and 21 at 7 PM.

Elaine St. George will bring “InspiRAYtion: The musical legacy of Ray Charles” to the Metropolitan Room April 27 at 7 PM. Musical director Tedd Firth will accompany on piano with Adam Armstrong on bass.

Nancy Stearns will perform seasonal tunes in "Weather Or Not," which will feature the standards and lesser-known songs of Irving Berlin, Vernon Duke, Jimmy Van Heusen and Johnny Burke, Randy Newman, James Taylor, Daryl Sherman, Francesca Bleumenthal and others. Stearns will be accompanied by Gregory Torojian on piano and David Finck on bass.

Dreamscape, a three-night cabaret series, will present "Bending Threads" April 28 at 9:30 PM, April 29 at 7 PM and April 30 at 7 PM. The evening will feature musical variations on "everything from Marvin Gaye to Stephen Sondheim" performed by four mixed voices and accompanied by drums, guitar and violin, as well as spoken word artists reciting the poetry of Langston Hughes, Tupac Shakur and Maya Angelou. Night One is titled "Discover Your Fantasies," Night Two "Uncover Your Nightmares" and Night Three "Awaken to Your Dreams Come True."
