O'Mara will play Jim Shannon, the head of a family from 2149 who must save humanity by traveling back in time to a prehistoric colony. The series will be co-produced by Oscar winner Steven Spielberg, Peter Chernin, Brannon Braga and David Fury. Best known stateside for his work on another time-traveling series, ABC's "Life on Mars," O'Mara has appeared on the London stage in Serenading Louie, The Homecoming, bash, The Jew of Malta, The School for Scandal and Popcorn. Other screen credits include "Marlowe," "The Agency" and "Band of Brothers." He will next be seen opposite "Grey's Anatomy" star Katherine Heigl in "One for the Money."
