The Sh-K-Boom Records Concert Series will present two evenings with Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown in June.

Brown, who recently received Drama Desk Awards for his music and lyrics for Off-Broadway's The Last Five Years, will perform with his band at The Cutting Room on June 18 and 25 at 7 PM. The evenings will also feature special guest vocalists, although names were not available at press time.

Brown won the Tony Award for Best Score for his Broadway debut, Parade. His most recent musical, The Last Five Years, just ended a brief run at Off-Broadway's Minetta Lane Theatre, although the score was preserved on Sh-K-Boom Records with its two-person cast — Norbert Leo Butz and Sherie René Scott — and will be released nationally on June 11. Brown also composed the score for Songs for a New World and wrote incidental music for Fuddy Meers, Kimberly Akimbo, The Waverly Gallery and the Irish Repertory Theatre's production of Long Day's Journey Into Night.

There is a $20 cover charge for the concert to be paid at the door, and reservations can be made by e-mailing [email protected]. The Cutting Room is located at 19 West 24th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues.
