News Jason Robert Brown to Release Solo CD; L.A. and N.Y.C. Club Dates Follow Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown will release his first solo recording on the Sh-K-Boom Records label next month.

On June 28, Brown's "Wearing Someone Else's Clothes" will hit stores around the country. The single CD features Brown on lead vocals, backed by the Caucasian Rhythm Kings. Track titles include "Someone Else's Clothes," "Long Long Road," "Someone to Fall Back On," "Getting Out," "Over," "Music of Heaven," "Nothing in Common," "I Could Be in Love with Someone Like You," "I'm in Bizness," "Coming Together" and "Grow Old With Me."

Brown will celebrate his new recording with performances in Los Angeles and Manhattan. The concerts will feature songs from the new recording as well as tunes from Songs for a New World, The Last Five Years, Parade and Brown's upcoming musicals Honeymoon in Vegas and 13!.

Brown will play two performances at the El Portal Theatre June 10 and 11 at 8 PM. The El Portal is located at 5269 Lankershim Boulevard; tickets, priced $25-$35, are available by calling (818) 508-4200 or by visiting www.elportaltheatre.com.

The composer is also scheduled to perform at Manhattan's Au Bar June 27, 29 and 30 and July 1-3. Au Bar is located in Manhattan at 41 East 58th Street. Call (212) 308-9455 for reservations.

Jason Robert Brown, who was the musical director and arranger for the musical Urban Cowboy, won the Tony Award for Best Score for his Broadway debut, Parade. His two-person musical, The Last Five Years, played a brief run at Off-Broadway's Minetta Lane Theatre, and was preserved on Sh-K-Boom Records. Brown also composed the score for Songs for a New World and wrote incidental music for Fuddy Meers, Kimberly Akimbo, The Waverly Gallery and the Irish Repertory Theatre's production of Long Day's Journey Into Night.
