Jay Armstrong Johnson, who stepped into The Mad Ones at the final hour when Ben Fankhauser was put on doctor-imposed vocal rest, will now stay with the Off-Broadway musical through December 3. Armstrong was previously scheduled to perform during the first week of previews only (November 8–12).

Fankhauser will return to the role of Adam December 5–17.

Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk’s new musical The Mad Ones—previously titled The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown—is currently in performances at 59E59 Theaters in a production from Prospect Theater Company. Stephen Brackett (Buyer & Seller) directs.

The Mad Ones follows Samantha, a young woman on the brink of change. As she sits in her parents’ driveway, the young woman faces a choice: Will she follow in her mother's footsteps or forge her own path?

Completing the cast are Krystina Alabado (American Psycho, American Idiot) as Samantha, Emma Hunton (Next to Normal, Spring Awakening), and Leah Hocking.

The Mad Ones is choreographed by Alexandra Beller (Bedlam’s Sense and Sensibility), and Paul Staroba is music director.

Tickets are available by calling Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200 or online at 59e59.org.
