Classic Arts News Jazz at Lincoln Center to Host Festival of Women in Jazz Jazz at Lincoln Center will host a festival of women jazz musicians in Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Rose Hall this fall.
The Diet Coke Women in Jazz Festival will run September 6-October 2. It will open with a week of performances by singer Angela Bofill; other headliners include pianists Marian McPartland, Toshiko Akioshi, and Hromi; singers Claudia Acuê±a, Nnenna Freelon, Karrin Allyson, Helen Merrill, and Ann Hampton Callaway; saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom; and drummer Terri Lyne Carrington.

"Jazz music is constantly evolving and women have long been instrumental in shaping the landscape of the jazz scene," said Derek E. Gordon, president and CEO of Jazz at Lincoln Center. "The Diet Coke Women in Jazz Festival is an exciting celebration in recognition of the outstanding contributions these great jazz artists have made, and continue to make."
