News Jeff Achtem's Shadow Puppets to Hit the Barrow Street Theatre with Sticks, Stones, Broken Bones Acclaimed Montreal street artist and puppeteer Jeff Achtem will bring his shadow puppet comedy, Sticks, Stones, Broken Bones, to the U.S. for a limited run at the Barrow Street Theatre Oct. 14-23.

The show, which comes direct from an acclaimed run at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, is co-presented by Scamp Theatre and Bunk Puppets.

A special Oct. 23 children's performance of the show at 11 AM (for ages 8 and up) will be followed by a shadow puppet workshop led by Achtem.

According to Barrow Street notes, "Horses ride people, ninjas fight audience members and old teddy bears get an unexpected new lease on life as Montreal street artist and puppeteer Jeff Achtem transforms bits of household junk into surreal shadow puppets before your eyes. Verbal communication takes a back seat as everything he can get his hands – and feet – on is used to create a joyfully detailed theatrical world like nothing you’ve ever seen."

Achtem has performed in festivals and theatres throughout the world as Mr. Bunk, his street-performance character.

The Barrow Street Theatre is located at 27 Barrow Street. For tickets ($25) to regular performances, call (212) 868-4444 or visit smarttix.com. Reservations are required for the children's puppet show and workshop; tickets are $18 with a special family package of $12 available to families of four or more. To order, visit the Barrow Street box office or email [email protected].
