After successful stagings of Jeff Daniels' Escanaba in da Moonlight and Apartment 3-A, California's B Street Theatre will produce Daniels' latest, Boom Town, July 29 - Sept. 12. The three-character Boom Town is more akin to the aggressive, clipped style of David Mamet than Daniels' usual fare of rollicking comedies, like The Vast Difference and Thy Kingdom's Coming. Boom Town concerns a small-town couple who own a convenience store in a thriving community. A banker threatens both the business and the marriage.
Timothy Busfield, of TV's "thirtysomething" and co-founder of The B Street, will direct the piece and co-star with Kurt Johnson and Teresa Wilkes Levine.
