LOS ANGELES -- Shoe Man, by movie actor Jeff Daniels (currently on screen in Pleasantville) will have its West Coast premiere Jan. 8, 1999 (recently pushed up from Dec. 11) at T.U. Studios in the Noho Arts District.

Daniels' comedy "tells the hilarious story of why Sally Simpson kills her husband Sam with a golf ball," said a company spokesperson.

The play was to have opened Dec. 4, but a last-minute change in directors -- from Mark McQuown to Pamela Hall -- forced a postponement.

The play features Darci Adams, Bix Barnabe, Brad Brizendine, Dennis Gersten, Carrie Ann Quinn, Leslie Harter, Charlie Hartsock, Livia Trevino and Elizabeth Wells.

Produced by Theatre Unlimited in association with Edmund Gaynes, Shoe Man has a set by Kent McFann, costumes by Lynn McQuown, sound design by Way Magic. The special effects are by John Zuehlke, choreography by Ken Baldwin. Shoe Man shines through Jan. 31, 1999 at T.U. Studios, 10943 Camarillo Ave. Call (818) 771-7330.
