The passionate fans of the Broadway musical, Jekyll & Hyde — organized as The Jekyll & Hyde Fan Club — chipped in and raised $1,543, donating the dough to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The club's co-president, Marc Goldman, told Playbill On-Line the contribution was to commemorate the 1,543 Broadway performances of the musical thriller, which closed Jan. 7 at the Plymouth Theatre. Co presidents Goldman and Richie Schwartz sent the check to Tom Viola of BC/EFA.

Goldman said this is the latest in a series of donations the fan club has made. "The JHFC has given at least $2,500 officially to BC/EFA in total in addition to the many contributions fans have made at the theatre during fund drives, and the thousands of dollars folks have spent at the Broadway Flea Market each year," he said."

On Jan. 6, the fan club held a celebration in honor of the show's run, at Ellen's Stardust Diner. About 150 people attended including J&H cast members Rob Evan, Coleen Sexton, Andrea Rivette, George Merritt, and Barrie Ingham. Frank Wildhorn also made an appearance at the event.
