Tony winner Jennifer Holliday will play Muzzy Van Hossmere in Scottsdale Musical Theater Company's upcoming production of the Tony-winning Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Performances are scheduled for September 27–October 7 at the Tempe Center for the Arts in Tempe, Arizona.

Holliday will be joined by Joey Lawrence (Blossom, Chicago) as Trevor Graydon and Marc Koeck as Jimmy. Additional casting (Binder Casting, Chad Eric Murnane, CSA in New York) will be announced at a later date.

In related news, the season will also include 42nd Street, which runs July 6–15 starring Charles Shaughnessy (The Nanny, Urinetown), Debby Boone (“You Light up My Life,” Seven Brides for Seven Brothers), and Eloise Kropp (Dames at Sea, Cats). Kropp will also create the tap choreography for the production.

Based on the 1967 Academy Award-winning film, Thoroughly Modern Millie features a book and lyrics by Dick Scanlan and Richard Morris and music by Jeanine Tesori.

Thoroughly Modern Millie was the 2002–2003 season's most celebrated show, nominated for 12 Tony Awards and winning six, including Best Musical and Best Actress in a Musical (Sutton Foster).

Tickets range from $36–$58 and are now on sale for both shows. Visit or call (602) 909-4215.
