Holliday, who first introduced audiences to Henry Krieger and Tom Eyen's  "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" from the Dreamgirls score, will perform the signature song during the legendary talent competition. The song happens to be the most-performed song in the Apollo's Amateur Night history.

The evening also marks Holliday's debut at the Apollo Theatre. Coincidentally, the opening scenes of Dreamgirls are set at the Apollo. A 2009-2010 national tour of the musical also launched at the famed Harlem venue.

The Apollo is also launching a new "Amateur Night Digital" component, which will allow users to vote for contestants who did not place in the final competition. Winning performers from the online segment will be invited back for a special live Amateur Night competition. The site will feature also video clips from the live version of the show.

Holliday earned a Tony for creating the role of Effie White in the original Broadway production of the Motown musical Dreamgirls. She also appeared in Your Arms Too Short to Box with God and Sing, Mahalia, Sing. She has released several albums and continues to tour in concert engagements.

Tickets for Amateur Night begin at $19 and are available by phoning (212) 531-5305, or by visiting ticketmaster.com. The Apollo is located at 253 West 125th Street.
