News Jennifer Paz and Daniel Rowan Will Star in Miss Saigon at Casa Mañana The Tony Award-nominated musical Miss Saigon, starring Jennifer Paz and Daniel Rowan as the intercultural couple in love amidst the Vietnam War, will play Casa Mañana in August.

Directed and choreographed by Tim Bennett, performances are scheduled for Aug. 10-18.

Based on Giacomo Puccini's Madame Butterfly, Miss Saigon, according to Casa Mañana, "is an emotional tale of forbidden love, the tragedies of war and the sacrifices made to achieve the American Dream." It has a book by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, with music by Schonberg and lyrics by Boublil and Richard Maltby, Jr.

In addition to Paz as Kim and Rowan as Chris, Miss Saigon also stars Kent Overshown as John and Joseph Anthony Foronda as The Engineer. Paz was the original Kim on the first national tour of Miss Saigon. Foronda replaced Jonathan Pryce as the Engineer in the original 1991 Broadway production of Miss Saigon.

The cast also features Heather Botts (Ellen), Marc delaCruz (Thuy), Dorcas Leung (Gigi), Amanda Jarufe (Yvette), Adrienne Tang (Mimi), Olivia de Guzman Emile (Yvonne), Parker Weathersbee (Tam), with ensemble members Brendan Cyrus, Christopher J. Deaton, Anthony Fortino, Brandon Wilhelm, Lamar Jefferson, Roel Garza and Oscar Seung.

The production will also have musical direction by Edward G. Robinson, costume design by Tammy Spencer, lighting design by Samuel Rushen, scenic design by Katie Dill and sound design by Jonathan "JP" Parke. For tickets and information, visit casamanana.org.
