Comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who has been trying out material in a series of monthly shows, titled Jerry Seinfeld: The Homestead, at New York's Beacon Theatre since January 2016, has announced that he will extend the series to June 2017, and add a second show each night, according to The New York Times.

He still has one appearance scheduled as part of the original series, on December 2.

The new performances will be given at 7 and 9:30 PM January 5, February 9, March 16, April 13, May 18 and June 8. Tickets for these shows will go on sale November 16, at 10 AM at BeaconTheatre.com.

In an earlier statement executive chairman of MSG James L. Dolan said, "Jerry Seinfeld is one of the most influential and respected comedians of all time and through both his groundbreaking hit series, 'Seinfeld,' and his newest venture, 'Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,' he has permanently changed both the modern comedy and television landscapes. As a renowned New Yorker whose brand of comedy is rooted in the Big Apple, we are honored to welcome Jerry to The Beacon, his neighborhood theater, for Jerry Seinfeld: The Homestand."

Seinfeld said, "My favorite theatre in New York to perform in has always been The Beacon. Comedians live for certain houses that just feel 'alive' for some reason. The Beacon is that place for me and I am so excited to make it my new home."

Seinfeld appeared on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" in January to promote the gig with a "tight five" (actually a bit over six) minutes of standup comedy. Watch the clip below:

Last season Seinfeld directed Colin Quinn: The New York Story, which played at the Off-Broadway Cherry Lane Theatre. He has also previously appeared in Jerry Seinfeld: Live on Broadway.
