News Jersey Boys Author Working on Stage Musical About Pop Goddess Cher Rick Elice, Tony-nominated co-librettist of Jersey Boys, is working on a stage musical based on the tumultuous life of pop goddess Cher.

Cher tweeted Oct. 25 that she had spent the previous three days with Elice, explaining, "We had so much fun."

Here is Cher's tweet:

 

Responding to Playbill.com's questions about the project, Elice said, "The fact is, we're just getting started so I don't think there's a story for you yet. No answers at this point, only questions."

Cher first announced the musical project in 2012, but this is the first new detail about the project. She said at the time that the show would include her top hits. No other details were immediately available.

Elice is also working on a musical based on the life of another pop singer, the late Whitney Houston.
