The star joins a list of other celebrities (and everyday citizens) — including Christian Slater, Elliot Gould, Katharine McPhee, Joe Montana, Richard Belzer and Kristin Cavallari — who also retell their histories for "We Are Ellis Island."

Save Ellis Island "seeks to raise the funds necessary to restore, and put to beneficial reuse, the deteriorated buildings of Ellis Island," the nonprofit's mission reads. "We aspire to capture the essence of Ellis Island by sharing the stories that highlight its most compelling human element: the immigrants who arrived here seeking equal rights, overcoming challenges and enduring life's many struggles, all to create new opportunities for themselves and generations to come."

Young won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Frankie Valli in the Four Seasons-based musical. He currently still plays the role with all three of his original co-stars.
