News Jessica-Snow Wilson Becomes Olive Ostrovsky Sept. 19 in Spelling Bee on Broadway Jessica-Snow Wilson signs in as Olive Ostrovsky in Broadway's The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Sept. 19.

Wilson takes over the role originated on Broadway (and previously Off-Broadway) by Celia Keenan-Bolger, who was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance. Keenan-Bolger will play Eponine in the upcoming Broadway revival of Les Misérables.

Jessica-Snow Wilson has appeared on Broadway in Good Vibrations, Little Shop of Horrors, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Les Misérables as well as the City Center Encores! production of Hair. Off Broadway, the actress was seen in Bingo, Zombie Prom, I Sing and Me and Juliet. She was Minnie in the recent Paper Mill Playhouse production of Hello, Dolly!

The musical directed by James Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods) and created by composer-lyricist William Finn, librettist Rachel Sheinkin and conceiver Rebecca Feldman pits 10 contestants (six actors, four audience members) against each other in a battle for the championship of the local spelling competition. Original cast member Jay Reiss provides additional material.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee earned six Tony Award nominations including Best Score, Best Book, Best Direction, Best Featured Actor (Dan Fogler) and Featured Actress (Celia Keenan-Bolger) as well as for the top prize of Best Musical. Fogler and book writer Sheinkin took home awards for their work.

Spelling Bee also currently plays in Chicago at the Drury Lane Theatre/Water Tower Place and recently played San Francisco's Post Street Theatre. Most of the SF cast will next play at Boston's Wilbur Theatre. The cast of the recent run at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre heads out on a national tour, starting in Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center beginning Sept. 19.
