News "Jewtopia" Film, With Ivan Sergei, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, to Debut at Newport Beach Film Fest The film version of the long-running Off-Broadway comedy Jewtopia will premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival, which runs April 26-May 3.

Jewtopia playwrights Sam Wolfson and Bryan Fogel co-wrote the screenplay. Fogel also directs the 89-minute film, which will officially open the festvial on April 26 at 7:30 PM.

The cast includes Ivan Sergei, Joel David Moore, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jon Lovitz, Rita Wilson, Tom Arnold, Peter Stormare, Camryn Manheim, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Wendie Malick, Nicollette Sheridan, Phil Rosenthal, Christine Lakin, Hayes MacArthur and Lin Shaye.

According to the writers, "The story is about Christian O’Connell (Sergei) and Adam Lipschitz (Moore) — two childhood friends who reunite as adults to help each other land the women of their dreams. Chris wants to marry Allison (Hewitt), a Jewish girl, so that he’ll never have to make another decision for as long as he lives. Adam is on the verge of getting married to Hannah (Sigler), a woman he is not content with. When Chris enlists Adam’s help in pretending to be Jewish so that Allison will date him, cultures collide and chaos ensues!"

Jewtopia played 27 previews and 1,052 regular performances at Off-Broadway's Westside Theatre. It concluded its run April 29, 2007.
