Classic Arts News Jian Wang CD of Bach Cello Suites Debuts on Billboard Chart A recording of Bach's solo Suites by cellist Jian Wang debuted on the Billboard classical chart this week at number 13.
Wang has recorded for Deutsche Grammophon since 1996. Born in Shanghai, he was featured as a child in the documentary film From Mao to Mozart: Isaac Stern in China. He is currently performing the Bach Suites on tour.

Yo-Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone, a collection of film music, remained at number one for the 19th straight week. Much of the chart remained unchanged: Ren_e Fleming's Handel and Andre Reu's Tuscany both enjoyed sales gains, but stayed at number two and number three; Joshua Bell's Romance of the Violin moved from number six to number five.

Follow Your Heart, the newest album from the Greek vocalist Mario Grangoulis, made its first appearance on the classical crossover chart in the number three spot. Josh Groban's Closer stayed at number one for the 57th week; Andrea Bocelli's Andrea remained at number two.

Ma's Obrigado Brazil: Live in Concert, which had dropped off the crossover chart last week, re-entered at number 14. The album's predecessor, Obrigado Brazil is at number 10 in its 80th week on the chart.
