TV's Jim J. Bullock will star in Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly, beginning previews at Los Angeles' Coronet Theatre June 17. Pigs opens June 26 for a run through Aug. 1.

Bullock is best known for appearances on "Too Close For Comfort," "Hollywood Squares" and "ALF." Also in the cast will be Off-Broadway original cast members Blake Hammond and David Pevsner, as well as Christopher Carruthers and Loren Freeman (L.A.'s Ruthless).

When Pigs Fly tells the tale of Howard (a character not unlike Mr. Crabtree), who is in charge of putting together an over-the-top revue but finds himself going over hurdles and combating negative attitudes. Despite a disbelieving guidance counselor, Howard's show goes on with more than fifteen original musical numbers, in which five men portray everyone from two ladies of the French court to a plumber to a grown up Annie Warbucks.

Pigs original director Mark Waldrop returns to direct. Waldrop co coceived the revue with Crabtree (of Whoo-Dee-Do fame), while also penning the lyrics and sketches. Dick Gallagher wrote the music. Costume designs are by Crabtree, who died of complications due to AIDS on June 28, 1996, at age 41, five days after completing his work on When Pigs Fly.

Critic Rex Reed has said of the piece, "Busby Berkeley would applaud this glittering mini-extravaganza with knee-slapping glee, and so would Vincent Minnelli...It has all the innocence of fearless kids who don't know the meaning of the words 'too much.'"

Tickets are available by calling the Coronet Theatre Box Office at (310) 657-7377. The Coronet Theatre is located at 366 N. La Cienega Boulevard in West Hollywood.
