Composer/lyricist Jimmy Webb, who recently headlined together with singer-songwriter Paul Williams and songstress Liz Callaway at NYC's Feinstein's at the Regency, is still working with Chazz Palminteri on a musical version of A Bronx Tale. The aforementioned cabaret performance even featured Webb singing a song from the piece, "Belmont Avenue." Back in May 2000, when he was dueting at Feinstein's with singer Glen Campbell, Webb had mentioned that he was involved in the project, telling Playbill On-Line, "I'll be working with Michael Feinstein on an album he's doing of my songs, and I'm working on A Bronx Tale with Chazz Palminteri."
Palminteri's A Bronx Tale was developed in Los Angeles at Theatre West Workshop before coming to New York where it was produced in 1989 at Playhouse 91. The story was later adapted as a feature film starring Palminteri and Robert De Niro.
