News Joanna Gleason and Chip Zien Venture Into Sweeney Todd's Woods Tonight Into Sweeney Todd's Woods, which is billed as a "monster mash-up of two landmark musicals by Stephen Sondheim – Sweeney Todd and Into the Woods" — is presented Nov. 1 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Directed by Phil Geoffrey Bond, with musical direction by Joe Goodrich, the 6 PM and 8:30 PM performances feature original Into the Woods stars Joanna Gleason and Chip Zien, T. Oliver Reid, Lucia Spina, Rob Maitner, Jessica Vosk, Harris Doran, Timothy John Smith, Scott Coulter, Sarah Rice and Kelli Rabke as well as Marquee Five: Mick Bleyer, Adam West Hemming, Vanessa Parvin, Sierra Rein and Julie Reyburn.

Jonathan Russell is featured on violin with Tom Hubbard on bass.

"Popular at Halloween or anytime," press notes state, "'A Little Nightmare Music' is in store when a host of singers from Broadway and cabaret – along with a trio of Sondheimhood’s bone-thrillin’ musicians – team up for Into Sweeney Todd’s Woods, a celebration of the magical and the macabre."

The evening is a co-presentation with Manhattan's 54 Below, which offered Into Sweeney Todd's Woods on Halloween.
