Tony winners Joanna Gleason (Into the Woods, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Marc Shaiman (Hairspray, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Smash) have joined the lineup for the 2018 Best in Shows cabaret evening at Feinstein's/54 Below, benefiting the Humane Society of New York.
They are the latest additions for the October 15 salute to SiriusXM radio host and Playbill contributor Seth Rudetsky, who will receive the society's Sandy Fund Award in recognition of his concern and support of the needs of rescued animals.
In addition to Gleason and Shaiman, the evening will also feature performances by the previously announced Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid, School of Rock), Ana Gasteyer (Wicked, Saturday Night Live), Adam Kantor (The Band’s Visit, Fiddler on the Roof), Andy Karl (Pretty Woman, Groundhog Day), Tony winner Lindsay Mendez (Carousel, Significant Other), Orfeh (Pretty Woman, Legally Blonde), Hugh Panaro (The Phantom of the Opera, Lestat), Christine Pedi (Sirius XM Radio, Spamilton), Kate Rockwell (Mean Girls), Betsy Wolfe (Waitress, The Last Five Years), and Tony winner Karen Ziemba(Contact, Bullets Over Broadway) with special guest appearances by two and four-legged friends.
The 7 PM concert is presented by Dorothy and Bill Berloni. There will be a post-performance reception with cast members for premium ticket buyers.
Rudetsky is also set to host and music direct the evening.
